چکیده
Glycerol valorisation is crucial for long-term economic viability due to the rise in biodiesel synthesis on a global scale. Therefore, it highly desirable convert bioglycerol into platform chemicals like solketal, fuel additive which will help sustain industry. Herein, glycerol transformed solketal utilising heterogeneous catalyst derived from SO3H-functionalized aromatic carbonaceous material with auxiliary hydrophilic groups and microwave irradiation. An ideal acetone molar ratio of 1:5 was found acetalization process that produces solketal. A conversion 98.1.4% 100% selectivity obtained using an 8 wt% dose at 70 °C just 10 mins method heating (50 W, 100 pressure). The reaction's activation energy be 35.8 kJ mol−1. reusability studied exhaustively over course six cycles, EDX results revealed there only minor loss activity 6th reaction cycle moderate leaching active sites.

Biodiesel Oil Derived from Biomass Solid Waste
Oils of a significant value both as fuels as well as for cosmetic applications can be extracted from the fruits of the jojoba plant. After extracting the oil, the remains of the fruit can still be further utilized as a solid fuel in furnaces or feedstock to animals. In the present work, the solid waste jojoba remains have been processed chemically to extract more biodiesel oil. The physical and...

Currently the large surplus of glycerol formed as a by-product during the production of biodiesel offered an abundant and low cost feedstock. Researchers showed a surge of interest in using glycerol as renewable feedstock to produce functional chemicals. This Minireview focuses on recent developments in the conversion of glycerol into valueadded products, including citric acid, lactic acid, 1,3...
متن کاملEvaluation of the Composition of Culture Medium for Yeast Biomass Production Using Raw Glycerol from Biodiesel Synthesis
The work herewith investigated the production of yeast biomass as a source of protein, using Yarrowia lipolytica NRRL YB-423 and raw glycerol from biodiesel synthesis as the main carbon source. A significant influence of glycerol concentration, initial pH and yeast extract concentration on biomass and protein content was observed according to the 2v (5-1) fractional design. These factors were f...
